Ariadna Vilalta interviewed by EFE: how technology is reshaping our digital self
In this interview with the EFE News Agency, cyberpsychologist Ariadna Vilalta examines how hyperconnectivity, algorithms and artificial intelligence are reshaping the human mind and the way we experience everyday life. Technology is no longer simply an external tool: it has become the environment in which we construct our identity, regulate our emotions, form relationships and make decisions.
Vilalta identifies ten psychological transformations associated with digital life, including changes in attention, memory, self-esteem, desire, emotional relationships and our capacity for autonomous thought. In response, she argues for the importance of recovering spaces for reflection, presence and critical thinking, so that we can use technology without allowing it to silently determine who we become.
